Recent Beauty Purchases

It’s been ages since I’ve done a beauty post!

This isn’t really a haul as such as I’ve had some of these items for a few weeks and have already used a few. But since I’ve built up a little collection, I thought it would be fun to show you guys what I’ve bought recently.

Superdrug Tea Tree Wipes £3.29

Lets get the most boring thing out of the way first! I bought these randomly as my skins been pretty rubbish recently, and I thought the tea tree might be good for it. I’ve hardly used them though as I always use make up remover and cleanser. Not too much to say about these, face wipes are face wipes!

L'Oréal fine flowers cleansing milk (£5.99) L'Oréal fine flowers gel cream wash (£3.99) L'Oréal fine flowers toner (£5.99)
L’Oréal fine flowers cleansing milk (£5.99) L’Oréal fine flowers gel cream wash (£3.99) L’Oréal fine flowers toner (£5.99)

I spotted these in Sainsbury’s recently and thought I’d pick them up, again as my skins not too great at the moment and I wanted to try some different skincare. These are new releases from L’Oréal.  I’ve been using the cleanser and toner for a few weeks now and I love them. They smell amazing, and are really gentle on the skin. I haven’t used the face wash yet as I’m finishing another one, but I’m sure I’ll like it as much as the other two. These are a 3rd off at Boots at the moment!

L'Oréal pure clay detox wash (£5.99) L'Oréal pure clay purity mask (£7.99
L’Oréal pure clay detox wash (£5.99) L’Oréal pure clay purity mask (£7.99)

The pure clay washes are another new realise from L’Oréal, and I picked the black one up because I loved the black pure clay face mask. I’ve not used this one yet as I’m using up another face wash. I decided to try the purity mask this time instead of the black one, and I wish I’d picked the black one up. This one isn’t too bad, but it does irritate my skin a little if I leave it on too long. These are also on offer in Boots at the moment with a third off.

Yes to grapefruit dark spot correcting serum (£8)
Yes to grapefruit dark spot correcting serum (£8)

I’m not 100% sure on the price of this as I can’t find it on the Boots website, I think it might have been on clearance. I bought this with the idea that I could use it under my eyes. I’ve not really being using it long enough to say if its made a difference. The serum itself feels nice on the skin, really hydrating and absorbs well, but it has an odd smell. It doesn’t smell like grape fruit like I expected and it’s a strange colour, like a yellowy fake tan colour. Thankfully this absorbs and I don’t have a patchy fake tan face!

Amazon brush set (£14.99)

Amazon brush set (£14.99)

I spotted these brushes on Amazon when I bought my new dressing table and I thought they’d look really pretty on it. They had good reviews so I thought I’d give them a go. The brushes are actually a lot nicer than I expected. They are really soft and fluffy, not as dense as some drugstore brushes, but they’d be great if you were just starting out with make up, and for the price the quality is brilliant. My only complaint with these is the gold bottoms sometimes fall off. I haven’t used these yet as I’m trying to keep them nice for my “What’s on my dressing table” post. If you want to purchase them, you can find them here.

Essence fixing compact powder. (£3.00)
Essence fixing compact powder. (£3.00)

I re-purchased this powder from Wilkinson’s, because I’m clumsy and dropped my other one and it smashed. This is a brilliant powder for setting under the eyes, £3 is an absolute bargain!

Revlon photoready perfecting primer in 001 (£12.99) Revlon colour stay concealer in 02 light (£6.99)

Revlon photoready perfecting primer in 001 (£12.99) Revlon colour stay concealer in 02 light (£6.99)

I love my Revlon Colourstay foundation, so I thought I’d try these two and so far I’m loving them both. The primer is creamy and absorbs really well, and the concealer is really brightening. These are buy one get one half price in Superdrug at the moment.

As you can see I have a little obsession with L’Oréal at the moment! I really wanted to try the foundation as I’d seen a lot of good reviews online, and so far I’m really impressed, it’s totally full coverage and lasts well. I purchased the eye paints out of curiosity (and it was 3 for 2), I haven’t worn them yet, but they look like they’ll be pretty for nights out (not that I go on many!). The brow gel is a repurchase because I love the first one, it’s such a quick and easy way to do your brows. The brown liner I bought for a more toned down day look, and the grey I just wanted to try as an alternative to black all the time.

I’m a big fan of the colour tattoos, and I think these are new additions. I bought them on a buy one get one half price at Superdrug, and I think these will make great bases for everyday wear.

How beautiful are these colours? Perfect for spring/ summer every day looks. I love Sleek eyeshadows and this palette is so highly pigmented too. Sleek is on offer at the minute at buy one get one half price in Boots.

I’ve never tried any of the Sleek Lip VIP’s before, but this colour was so pretty I had to buy it. Its a lovely understated red-nude-pink colour. I’m quite looking forward to wearing this one.

MUA wonder vanishing primer (£5) MUA glow beam liquid highlight cushion (£5)

MUA glow beam liquid highlight cushion (£5)

I went off MUA for a bit, but I’ve recently watched a video on YouTube reviewing these products so I thought I’d give them a go, and they were discounted in Superdrug which was a bonus! The primer is meant to be good for filling in pores which I need in my life, and I’ve never tried a cushion product before, so I’m interested to see how the highlight turns out.

My skins looking pretty red at the minute so I decided to try this green colour corrector to cancel it out. I have a Barry M one which is far too green and even when I blended it out, it makes me look ill. This one seems a much better match for my skin tone thought  so fingers crossed!

The Six Shade Palettes are a new product from MUA, and for £3.50 I thought I’d give it a try. The shadows aren’t as pigmented as the sleek ones, and they are a little chalky, but they seem buildable and for the price its not a bad deal.

Make Up Revolution lipstick in Chauffer

And the final buy! This really pretty nude lipstick from Make Up Revolution. I thought this would be a pretty shade for wearing everyday, and I’ve actually not tried Make Up Revolution lipsticks recently.

I feel like this blog post has taken ages! It’s hard work blogging about beauty! Let me know if you want any more indepth reviews on any of the products, and if you’ve bought anything new recently.

I’m going to Go Ape tomorrow with Dan, wish me luck! Hope you all have a nice weekend.
